Advisor to the CEO | 2015 – Present

James Davies has served as a strategic and technical advisor to the CEO of ICDX since 2015, providing ongoing counsel across operations, technology, and business development.

This is not an occasional advisory relationship. James participates in weekly risk committee calls and joins working sessions with senior management up to three times per week, providing real-time input on operational and strategic decisions. He typically has visited Jakarta one to two times annually for intensive on-site engagement with the executive team and board.

Technical Advisory

James has provided hands-on guidance on critical infrastructure projects, including the specification and development of a complete clearing engine and, more recently, a new matching engine. His input covers functional requirements, risk methodology, and architecture review — drawing on direct experience building and operating similar systems in European and US markets.

Operational Development

James introduced and championed the adoption of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) as the management framework for the exchange, overseeing the transition and embedding the methodology across departments. He has delivered training programmes for senior staff on sales effectiveness and management practice, and facilitates regular annual offsites focused on strategic planning and team alignment.

Ongoing Engagement

This nine-year relationship reflects a depth of trust and integration rarely seen in advisory mandates — functioning as an extension of the executive team rather than an external consultant.
